?Mini Sports Day? was organized for students of class II and III between 18th Sept., 2012 to 26th Sept., 2012. All students participated in ?Relay race?. Winners from each section further participated in the final race. Students, dressed in different colour T-shirts, displayed full enthusiasm for the activity.

| VIHAAN - Annual Function & Prize Distribution |
VIHAAN CELEBRATED
DLDAV Pitampura, organized Vihaan ? the inauguration of Mahatma Hansraj Auditorium in school and Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony 2011-2012. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri Punam Suri, President DAV College Managing Committee. Other guests who graced the function were Shri R.S. Sharma, General Secretary, DAVCMC, Shri Shrideep Omchery, Vice President, DAVCMC and Chairman of the school, Dr. Nisha Peshin, Director Public Schools, DAVCMC, Sh. S.C. Gupta, Vice Chairman, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Manager, Office bearers of DAVCMC, Members of LMC, PTA, Alumni, Principals and parents. The cultural bonanza included OmVandana, Oriya folk dance Potta Khelyo, Kathak Taraana and ballet ?Amar Satya? based on the legend of Mohini Bhasmasura. School News Bulletin ?Asmita? was released by the guests. Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra presented the Annual Report which highlighted the achievements of the students. She thanked the management, parents, staff and students for the progress of the school. Chief Guest, Shri Punam Suri applauded the efforts of the school in the holistic development of the students and in transmitting the ideals of Arya Samaj in them. Chairman of the school, Shri Shrideep Omchery conveyed that the impressive fully airconditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of 1000 people was a landmark in the history of the school. Prizes were distributed to meritorious students who secured outstanding results in class XII Board Exam and A 1 grades in other classes. The function ended with National Anthem.

CROSS ROADS 2012
DLDAV Pitampura, organized CROSSROADS 2012, an array of Interschool competitions, related to different subjects with the aim of fostering creativity and innovation, honing interpersonal skills and exploring talent. Nearly 600 students from 30 schools participated in the event. The competitions included Fancy Dress Competition, Words-Verse, Voctrove, Young Thespian, Maths Quest, Resonance (Poster Making & Design a slogan), Bridge (Web Designing & Collage Making), Biznomics and Kavya Gaan. Shri. S.C. Gupta, Vice Chairman of the school, Sh. Vivek Sardana, President, Rotary Charter and Director, New Generation, Rotary Club, Ms. Anju Mehta, Senior Project Manager, Schools Development Programme, British Council, Ms. Purti Kohli, Project Manager, Schools, British Council were guests on the occasion. The competitions were judged by a panel of eminent jury members from different walks of life. The host school was declared first for overall Best Performance but the Trophy was awarded to Bal Bharti School, Rohini. Speaking on the occasion Shri S.C. Gupta urged the children to follow their intuition and let hard work, ambition and passion pave way for a bright future. Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra congratulated the participants for their overwhelming response and their outstanding performances.

The school organized a 3 days Workshop to develop Sample Question papers in the subject of Accountancy for class XI (2012-13) under the aegis of DAV Education Board from 5 to 7 May, 2012. Investiture Ceremony for the newly appointed members of Student Council and Prefectorial Board for classes IV to VI, VII to IX and X to XII was organised. The Council Members and Prefects pledged to maintain discipline and uphold the honour and dignity of the school. Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra congratulated the students and hoped that they would serve as school ambassadors in their capacities and fulfill the responsibilities assigned to them.

| VENUS TRANSIT - 6TH JUNE, 2012 |
Students of class X got a golden opportunity of observing/viewing the rare Venus transit in school premises. The students witnessed/viewed the Venus transit through a telescope provided to school by Nehru Planetarium. Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra and other teachers made special efforts to install equipment to enable viewing the same.
Next Venus transit will be around 2117.

LOVE NATURE WALK OF VI CLASS STUDENTS IN NEIGHBOURING AREAS
Young saviours of DLDAV Model School, ND Block, Pitampura, today took a march past in MD & LD Blocks, carrying hoardings with slogans related to the awareness on "How to save Mother Earth". Residents of the area appreciated the efforts and the Nukkad Natak and promised to follow the path shown by the students. They encouraged the students by providing them refreshments. It was quite an interactive and interesting acivity full of enthusiasm.

On the occasion of Foundation Day of the School the students of classes II & III, performed the following activities.
Bhakti Sangeet Competition (class II) :
The students of class II sand melodious bhajan. Each child participated, singing in their best voices. Best five were chosen from each class who further competed for the Best among the Best.
Fancy Dress Competition (Class III) :
The students of class III participated in a Fancy Dress Competition. They came dressed in different costumes, representing different cultures, personalities of India. Again, five were chosen from each class who fuuther competed with each other. |
