ULLAS UTSAV 2013 - KINDERGARTEN

DLDAV, Pitampura organized ULLAS UTSAV, the Annual Cultural Fest for classes Nursery and Preprimary at TP  Block. The Festival of Joy which recognizes the uniqueness of every child gave an opportunity to every child of the class to participate in the cultural programme.  Parents were invited to witness the event and encourage their children to be a part of all school activities.  The event not only tapped the talent of the children but also provided exposure, instilled confidence and promoted teamwork and cooperation. It was a colourful extravaganza  smitted by the Muse, textured by little hands, tinted by young minds, a celebration of vitality, creativity and intensity. It included A MUSICAL CALENDAR? (class nursery) depicting celebration of festivals throughout the year and A MUSICAL JOURNEY TO A FAIRY WORLD (class Preprimary). Where students gave a musical presentation on Saraswati Vandana, BAL Ganesha, Alladin, Barbie doll, Cindrella, Snowwhite, Pied piper & Jungle Book. Parents praised the spectacular performance of their children and appreciated efforts of the teachers. Our Principal Mrs Anita Wadehra congratulated the staff, students and parents for the success of the function.

DAV UNITED ALUMNI MEET-FELICITATION OF RETIRED PRINCIPAL & TEACHERS
A memorable day in the pages of history was created by ?DAV United? in the first ever Alumni Meet of all DAV Schools, Delhi and NCR in the newly inaugurated auditorium of DLDAV Pitampura. The guests on the occasion were Shri Shrideep Omcheri, Vice President, DAVCMC and Chairman of the School, Dr. Nisha Peshin, Director, Public Schools, DAVCMC, Officials from DAV Management, Retired Principals, Teachers and Alumunus of DAV Schools.
The retired Principals and teachers were felicitated for their valuable contribution for the cause of education.

CBSE HERITAGE QUIZ
CBSE selected the school to organize the XII CBSE Heirtage Education and Heritage India Quiz 2012. Three participants each from 51 schools participated in the quiz initiated by CBSE with the objective of creating awareness and appreciation towards the rich cultural heritage of India and a plea to protect the heritage monuments.  The written round was conducted by eminent Quizmaster Mr. Arindam Bhattacharya.  Six teams qualified for the on - stage round conducted by renowned Quiz Master Mr. Parnab Mukherjee.  Teams from New Era Public School, Mayapuri and N.C. Jindal Public School, Punjabi Bagh qualified for the Regional Round.

SPECTRUM 2012
School organized Spectrum 2012 ? the Annual Inter House Cultural Fest for students of the five Houses of the school ? Modesty, Courage, Enterprise, Dignity and Freedom.  A number of Inter Class Competitions and activities were held in which every child of the class participated.  These included Just a Minute, Maths O Quest, mask making, cartoon making, extempore etc.  In Flight of Fantasy, stage presentations were made on different topics like Jal hai to kal hai, Jeevan hai to abhilasha hai, Badal hai to prakriti hai, Honsla hai to aasman hai, Sapne hai to muskaan hai.  Guests on the occasion Mrs. Madhu Omcheri, school patron and Mrs. Veena Tandon, Education Officer, Zone XI congratulated the students and teachers for their teamwork, cooperation, creativity and innovation.  Enterprise House bagged the Best Presentation trophy.

HINDI DIWAS
Students of classes II and III participated in a Special Assembly on the occasion of Hindi Diwas.  In a Kavi Sammelan, students presented hindi poems on different subjects.  They highlighted the importance of the language and mother tongue.  Students of classes VII to IX prepared bulletin boards and display boards on the lives of famous poets and their poems.

CULTURAL HERITAGE PROJECT
Students of classes IV, V, VI participated in the Cultural Heritage Project under the aegis of ISA Activity of British Council.  The activities included Fancy Dress for class IV, Live Projects for class V and Food Festival for class VI.  The countries under study were China, Spain,  Pakistan, Qatar, Japan, U.K., Nepal, France and others.  Through their activity, students presented and explained the customs, traditions, lanugages, festivals, food of different countries.  Parents who were invited to witness the activity appreciated the efforts of both the children and teachers in the excellent presentation of the project.  Similar activities were undertaken by students of classes LKG to III.

The event not only tapped the talent of the children but also provided exposure, instilled confidence and promoted teamwork and cooperation.  The cultural programme included ?Saraswati Vandana?, ?Welcome Song? and ballet ?Snowwhite and the Seven Dwarfs.?  The ballet beautifully presented the fairy tale of Snowwhite and the evil plot of her stepmother to kill her. However her innocence finally triumphs and she lives happlily ever after with the Prince.    Chief Guest Mr. Manan Thakral, Radio Jockey, Emcee, President, Lions Club appreciated the spectacular performance of children and appreciated the vision and aim of the event.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra congratulated the staff, students and parents for the success of the function.

Parents were invited to witness the event and encourage their children to be a part of all school activities.  The event not only tapped the talent of the children but also provided exposure, instilled confidence and promoted teamwork and cooperation.  The cultural programme included ?Saraswati Vandana? and ballet ?Aman Ka Karavan.?  The ballet depicted how the evil forces of greed, violence and selfishness destroy life on earth and urged the students to be ambassadors of peace and resurrect life.  Chief Guest Shri Shrideep Omchery, Vice President, DAVCMC and Chairman of the school praised the spectacular performance of children and appreciated the vision and aim of the event.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra congratulated the staff, students and parents for the success of the function.

GRANDPARENTS DAY 2013
DLDAV, Pitampura celebrated Grandparents Day on the occasion of ?Ullas Utsav.?  Around 95 grandparents of students of class V were felicitated and presented books.  A spectacular cultural programme was presented by students which included a Saraswati Vandana and ballet ? Aman ka Karavan.  Chief Guest Shri Shrideep Omchery, President DAVCMC and Chairman of the school released newsletter ?Reflections.?  In his address to the gathering he highlighted the significant role of grandparents in a child?s life and the need to have respect, love and compassion for them.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra urged the children to hold their weak hands just the way they have done always.

LIVE PROJECTS (CLASS II-III)
An ISA activity was organised under the guidance of British Council where students of class II and II depicted flora and fauna of various countries around the world through live presentations.  The countries in focus were China, Japan, USA ans South Africa.  Each class was assigned a country and students depicted natural vegetation and wildlife of that country.   The play was presented in front of parents of the students.
